The Way of the Wild Heart 11:46 pm

It is the time when a young man discovers the Way of the Heart, that poetry and passion are far more closer to the Truth than are mere reason and proposition. He awakens to beauty, to life. He discovers music and literature; like the young David, he becomes a romantic and it takes his spiritual life to a whole new level. Often, Service for God is overshadowed by intimacy with God.

The crisis of leadership in our churches, businesses, and government is largely due to this one dilema: men have been given power, but they are unprepared to handle it.

Understanding does not equal healing. Clarity does not equal restoration. Many men understand their wounds, can talk about them with great clarity. They know what happened, what life was like... Yet they remain unfinished men, haunted by the memories, crippled by the wounds. The addiction remains, the fears remain, the lack of wholenes remains. And by the way, it doesnt take a major assault or abuse to create a broken heart...Depending on the age or circumstance, it can be an embarrassing moment like stuttering in front of the class, or a harsh word from your mother.

Remember now- the human heart was designed to grow up in a world of love and security, a world where we are known and prized each and every day- a world very very different from the world anyone actually grows up in, living now so far from Eden. The heart is a tender thing and easily broken, especially when we are young. That is why Jesus offers to heal the brokenhearted: Isaiah 61:1

Exactly how God comes to heal the human heart is a deep mystery, but it works something like this: He will often arrange for some event to make us feel just as we did when our hearts were broken. Feeling again what we felt then, or perhaps suddenly when a memory resurfaces, we have an opportunity not to push it away, or run, or get angry at someone. Rather, we invite God to come to the broken place within us and restore us. Sometimes the Father's healing comes immediately, other times over the course of many months as He speaks to our hearts and opens our awareness of our heart.
