i know God loves us. i know it hurts Him when we hide from Him. I know it angers Him when we doubt Him so much. I know it frustrates Him when we refuse His love by believing that we're not worthy. Indeed we're not worthy. But He made me worthy in His sight because He chose to love us. and i just keep sinning, breaking the commandments practically everyday. more often than not, ignoring His warnings. and then regretting.
Our sins our different but I dont believe that my guilt and anger is any lesser than yours. But should we prolong it by remaining in the guilt and anger? Should we stay away from God by "punishing" ourselves by not asking God for forgiveness because we dont deserve it? [I feel that it is not much difference from those ppl who whip themselves till blood flows when they sin. Its like, they will only feel that they've been forgiven only if they've suffered for their wrongs.]
Isnt it better to quickly run back to His side instead of staying away from Him? It sounds so familiar doesnt it? That was the first reaction Man did when they sinned. Adam and Eve hid from God. The big difference is that now, we have Jesus who have atoned for our sins on the cross. That makes grace and mercy so much easier. Too easy, you say. I agree. Even the angels could not understand why. So great is our Father's love. Now, THAT is love. Dont try to get logic out of love. Dont try to reason it with our puny human minds. His love is beyond comprehension. We wont understand it, so, accept it. Simply accept His love and forgiveness.
I told God i wont do it again. I still did. I asked for forgiveness. But i did it again and again.
Sounds familiar? Everyone faces it, its called a cycle, its called a stronghold.
Ok God, i really want to change. And i will try my best to change. Please forgive me again, i am so so sorry.
But a few days later, you gave in to temptation again... Once again, you're not the only one. More often than not, we depend on our own will and strength to overcome our temptations and strongholds, and we fail. That's cos we havent been relying on God, or rather, we've willingly allowed ourselves to be tempted.
its good to have inquisitive minds, because thats how we learn things. but more often than not, we question God out of disbelief and lack of faith in Him...
